St Elizabeth Church of Ireland, Dundonald

BUILDING FOR THE GOSPEL

Over the next few decades Dundonald, as an outer suburb of Belfast, will continue to go through some very significant changes. For example, the number of young families living in Dundonald is expected to grow considerably (Dundonald Primary School has a capacity for over 800 children). The number of elderly people is also on the increase, especially those living on their own. Also people and families coming to live in Dundonald from overseas is also likely to increase, as may the number of people who travel into the parish to work from Mondays to Fridays. So looking ahead St. Elizabeth’s will have many fresh opportunities for mission.

Building for the Gospel

To that end, our proposal is to build a new church centre with halls, rooms, offices, youth centre, kitchen and a main meeting area, which will greatly assist us in being faithful to Jesus Christ’s commission to his church. Jesus asks us to go and make disciples of all nations and we need to be as effective as we can in doing this. The heart of ‘Building for the Gospel’ therefore, is the Gospel, not the buildings.

So we want to assure people that whatever level of support they are able to give will be for the growth of God’s Church and ultimately for his glory. It will be an investment with dividends and returns that will last into eternity.
